For the last 20 years I have been working as a music teacher at the international education system, currently at the King’s College Latvia. I have a Master’s Degree in Music from the J. Vitols Latvian Academy of Music in 2009. I also have experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP), the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). I have taught music to students aged 2 to 18 and have experience in performing, singing and playing piano, soprano recorder, guitar and a bass guitar. I’m also a vocal teacher, choral conductor, and a piano and guitar tutor.
Since 2010 I have been the National Coordinator of Latvia of the European Association for Music in Schools (EAS) and since 2012 I have been the head of the Latvian Music Teachers’ Association. As a Riga City Music Teacher’s Advisory Board member and experienced practitioner in the field of music education, I often give lectures and practical workshops in Latvia and other EU countries. The topic of my main research: Differentiated Music Instruction in the Classroom.
