Martina Krusinská
In her postgraduate studies, she specialized in alternative and innovative approaches in music education in Slovakia.
In the past, she worked as a music teacher at elementary (art) schools and as a university music teacher at the University of Žilina, Faculty of Humanities, Institute of Music. At present, she works at the Catholic University in Ružomberok, Faculty of Education, Institute of Music, where she leads courses in music pedagogy, music psychology and music ethnography. She is the founder of the Centre for Ethnography and Art at the Catholic University in Ružomberok and the guarantor of the Elementary Art School of Folk Dance and Music in Ružomberok – a unique school model in Slovakia.
For a long time, she has been leading creative music workshops for toddlers 1+ and their parents in Žilina. She is also a teacher at music and movement workshops for teachers of music in Slovakia.
In her university courses and publications, she specializes in topics concerning music education innovations in Slovakia based on reform pedagogical approaches (M. Montessori, C. Orff, É. J. Dalcroze), as well as the ethno-pedagogical and music therapy paradigms in music education.
