Salzburg International Airport

Munich International Airport (MUC)

Munich International Airport is the biggest Airport close to the city of Salzburg and offers plenty of flights to destinations in Europe and oversea destinations. To get to Salzburg from Munich Airport, you should take the train at Munich Hauptbahnhof or Ostbahnhof (approx. 2,5 hours by train from Airport to Salzburg).

Vienna International Airport

Vienna International Airport offers plenty of flights to destinations in Europe and some to Overseas. To get to Salzburg from Vienna Airport, you should take the train (approximately 3 hours by train).

There are several options to get to Vienna from Vienna Airport. Low budget is to travel with ÖBB or Westbahn.

Munich Hauptbahnhof

Frequent and convenient trains connect Munich and Salzburg. Rail-Jet (High speed) and Eurocity-Trains (EC) only have a travel time or 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 45. For timetables, connections and fares see bahn.de.

Vienna Hauptbahnhof

ÖBB Rail-Jet (High speed) and Intercity-Trains (ICE) depart from Vienna Hauptbahnhof every hour during the day, and take from 2 hours and 20 minutes to 2 hours and 50 minutes.

There is also a recommendable private train service, Westbahn, offering the tour half prized. You can buy the tickets on the trains. In case of high frequency, it may be difficult to store your luggage. (departure from Wien WESTbahnhof only!!)
