“quiet riot”

Jakob Kolb – Gitarre/Vocals/Processing/Sampling
Peter Herbert – Kontrabass

Numerous playful encounters in the Icomp lectures will result in a spontaneous piece that references the space; the title, an oxymoron, is programmatic. Both performers are second-semester students/teachers in the mdw’s Masterprogramm “Conteporary Art Practice (CAP)” program.

A Musical-Democratic Experiment

Ensemble Colourage
The Ensemble Colourage was founded in 2020. Musicians from the German State Philharmonic Orchestra of Rhineland-Palatinate and freelance musicians from outside the West responded to the call: “Make music together!” They all shared the desire to create something new and to musically reflect the diversity of the urban communities of Mannheim and Ludwigshafen. Since then, Colourage has developed its own repertoire and forged its own identity. Together, the ensemble aims to demonstrate through its music how a sense of community can thrive in an immigrant society.
