EAS Conference Grant 2025

Purpose of the EAS Conference Grant

The purpose of the grant is to waive the conference registration fee. Annually, as long as funds permit, EAS will sponsor 6 people to attend the conference free of charge. The delegates will still pay the membership fee.

The EAS Conference Grant is open to all EAS members.  Applicants can be both presenters or delegate attendees. Priority will be given to:

  • Applicants from conference’s underrepresented countries
  • Applicants come from countries whose purchasing power is comparatively low
  • Applicants who have a thematic interest in participating (accepted presentation or, for example, own work in the subject area of the conference).
  • First-time conference attendees
  • Applicants who have precarious job situations/fixed-term contracts.

Call and Application

Every year, a call will be made in September. Applications will open in the Autumn. The selection process will be finished in January. Notification to successful applicants will take place in February.

Applications will be accepted using an online EAS Grant application form.
For the 2025 Evora Conference, please complete the form by February 6, 2025. The EAS Grant committee and EAS Board will make a decision and will inform the applicants until February 28, 2025.

Along with the online application form, all applicants provide a CV and a short letter of motivation (approximately 500 words) describing:

  • the ways in which attending the EAS Conference will contribute to the individual’s further work in music education,
  • the reason why the applicant’s institution does not provide support,
  • how your field of interest fits with the conference theme and aims / scope of EAS work

The Decision-making Process

  • EAS-Grant Selection Committee (EAS-GSC) members collect the applications and view the documents.
  • Together in a meeting, committee members make final decisions in relation to the set criteria.
  • The responsible EAS board member presents the document to the EAS board for final approval.
  • Conftool will include another point for registration so that the successful applicants can register without paying the conference fee.
